ARRRR PIRATES

So here are a couple of pics from the big pirate bash!!! Everyone was involved including Dad, Mya and Uncle Aaron. They were a little too scary with their fake teeth and made a little girl cry. It was very sad!!! However, Jaxson had a great time with the treasure hunt, face painting, throwing water balloons, and a huge sword fight with all of the pirates. There was fun for all, and I thank everyone for coming and sharing this great time with him. He is very gateful for all of his gifts and hasn't stopped playing with all of the transformers!! Thanks again

JAXSON ADAM

This is my sweet boy Jaxson in his cute t-ball outfit, he is turning 5 tomorrow and I am pondering what a great son he is. He is so fun and energetic, he loves to play and wrestle, he adores his sister and watches out for her, he loves to sing and dance, he is great at sports, soccer especially, and he is very polite-well most of the time, and he loves me!!!

I think back 5 years ago to the day and what a long day it was. I called the hospital to be induced and they didn't have a bed until 5pm that day. I tried to sleep, Adam didn't have a problem with that and we drove to the hospital. There I was hooked up to monitors, and signed all the forms, all the family came to give us encouragement, which I didn't really need any at that time, I was doing great, but starving!!! At about 1030 my nurse told everyone to leave and let me get some rest, my mom was pretty upset to say the least. I slept and Adam slept, after the epidural of course!! At about 130 the nurse came in and said we were ready to have a baby. So fast I thought not so much for all of the family waiting in the waiting area. Well 30 minutes later and he was born Jaxson Adam Kobel weighing 7 pounds even and as perfect as ever. My parents and Adams were there and held our little boy their first grandson and he was so awake looking at all of them and listening to what they had to say. Everyone then left because it was the middle of the night and Adam such a proud dad never stopped looking at him, he bore him his testimony of the church and Joseph Smith and the spirit was so strong. We just looked at him for hours until we finally all fell asleep. I love him and the good example he continues to be to all of us. I am so grateful to be a mom to such a sweet little boy and I pray that I will teach him all he needs to know in this life and make good choices. Happy Birthday buddy!!! I love you

So Worth it

I read this and was so grateful, I do not have the same body as I did before kids, but they are worth it. I can really work on me when they are all grown up, because that will happen so fast and I will enjoy today each love, kiss, and smile until then.

Ode to Motherhood
Where did they go -
My beautiful hips,
look at what's left in their place...
Two handles of love
is what they say,
with stretch marks all over the place...
Where are they now
my perky firm breasts,
Oh there they are down there...
Pointing towards my ankles and knees,
hoisted up by the bras that I wear...
What happened to
my lovely smooth thighs,
They're covered in cellulite bulge...
they're thick and they're round
and it can't be from
all of the chocolate that I indulge...
I've said goodbye
to my firm and tight butt,
which is now as flat as a board...
It droops down to there
it hasn't a care
Yet it once seemed to be so adored...
There's no more nails
to paint blood red,
to be admired with many gold rings..
They're cracked and chipped
and broken now
I no longer have time for such things...
But wait, what is that?
It's my third son's first smile,
and look it's because he loves me...
To him I'm the best
and most incredible thing
That his little eyes ever did see...
There will be time later on
once he's all big and grown,
and he's got his own life to live...
For me to be sexy and get it all back
But for now there's so much to give.

Some Things to Remember

1. You finally stop to smell the roses, because your baby is in your arms and wants to smell them.
2. Where you once believed you were fearless, you now find yourself afraid.
3. The sacrifices you thought you made to have a child no longer seem like sacrifices.
4. You respect your old body ... finally.
5. You respect your parents and love them in a new way.
6. You find that your baby's pain feels much worse than your own.
7. You believe once again in the things you believed in as a child.
8. You lose touch with the people in your life whom you should have banished years ago.
9. Your heart breaks much more easily.
10. You think of someone else 234,836,178,976 times a day.
11. Every day is a surprise .
12. Bodily functions are no longer repulsive. In fact, they please you. (Hooray for poop!)
13. You look at your baby in the mirror instead of yourself.
14. You become a morning person.
15. Your love becomes limitless, a superhuman power.
16. You discover how much there is to say about one tooth.
17. You finally realize that true joy doesn't come from material wealth.
18. You now know where the sun comes from.
19. You'd rather buy a plastic tricycle than those shoes that you've been dying to have.
20. You realize that although sticky, lollipops have magical powers.
21. You don't mind going to bed at 9 p.m. on Friday night.
22. Silence? What's that?
23. You realize that the 15 pounds you can't seem to get rid of are totally worth having.
24. You discover an inner strength you never thought you had.
25. You no longer rely on a clock — your baby now sets your schedule.
26. You give parents with a screaming child an ''I-know-the-feeling'' look instead of a ''Can't-they-shut-him-up?'' one.
27. Your dog — who used to be your ''baby'' — becomes just a dog.
28. You take the time for one more hug and kiss even if it means you'll be late.
29. You learn that taking a shower is a luxury.
30. You realize that you can love a complete stranger

Life is so short, and I am so grateful for things you learn and grow from-especially my children!!

Today

I have been reading some blogs today and wish I was more crafty with mine. I am so lazy today, I have been building Thomas tracks with Jaxson, cleaning, working outside, and sitting around too. Maybe not soooo lazy. I have also been paying close attention to my sweet kids. Wathching the cute things they do and say to me and eathother. Jaxson is growing up sooo fast and I won't have him home next year, I am trying to love life with him and Mya and have more patience. They teach me so much and I hope I am doing a good job teaching them as well.

I am so grateful to be a mom and be involved in their lives. I am grateful for my own mom and the involvement she had in my life and continues to have.

I am so excited to be involved in the Breast Cancer 3-day with my mom and sister. I have been reading e-mails and am so touched by the love and service this event provides. I will keep you updated and let you know how it goes.

See ya

Grams

Today is a special day it is my grandma's birthday. She passed away a few years ago, but it has brought great memories to mind. I remember sleeping over and sleeping in her bed, while grandpa slept out on the couch. She didn't want the "spooks" to get me, or so she said. I remember waking up and helping get her coffee with cream and sugar. I remember her trying to get me to eat something for breakfast, even though she never ate anything.
I loved her way of not rushing and lounging around, she wanted to do whatever we wanted to do. We would go to the mall and see a movie or just to watch other people. We would go shopping just for me, go to McDonalds and get a happy meal, a rare thing in my family with 6 kids at home. Grams was one of a kind and I loved to sit on top of the couch and do her hair, sometimes not the greatest but she loved it. I also loved to do her toenails.
She was the littlest grandma who had a huge heart for us-her grandchildren. My children never got to know their great grandma , but I know they would have loved her lots too!
Miss you grams!!! You will always have a special place in my heart.
