reminder

I was reading cjane tonight and really loved something she was thinking about that is so true and I needed this reminder for me!

"Then at Stake Conference Sister Wong gave a talk, a really enlightening, powerful talk, and in it she said, "Our temporal needs will never be met." And that statement hit me with a wave of warm emotion, signifying it must be true so I accepted that too. My temporal needs--decorating my house or hitting a certain weight or having things, whatever they are--will never be enough, I will always wish for more. The duty is to accept what I have now, with a heart stuffed of happiness and gratitude. What I have, or what I am right now is perfectly suited for right now. It is "the best."

We will always want and "need" but I will try this week to like and accept me and this life as it is. It really is pretty great! Nice cool home, sleeping kids, cozy bed to lay in, cold water to drink, a new day of fun and laughter, and love! Be happy to accept tomorrow I am gonna try! No trip to Target this week for me. Accept today it is the best :)

Whitneeeeeee!!!!

This is a classic Whitney face! She is 2 today and I am so sad she is getting big and not much of a baby anymore. She dresses herself in many different interesting ensembles , she feeds herself, she talks a lot, she takes her diaper off whenever she can, she is a little bossy at times, she has her daddy wrapped around her finger, she goes by "bukie" a lot and loves to call herself that too. She has been saying "happy birfday" to herself all week. She is such a light in our lives and really so sweet. I know she is loved by so many and am grateful for her demeanor and humor she already has. Oh an she definitely knows how to dance too. We sure love you buks and hope you have a fantastic day!

Today

Today is "Molly Golly's " birthday! That is what my Grandpa would say if he was still here. She is a beautiful 29 years young. We got to spend a great lunch at CPK with her girlfriends and family. She decided that this year she was going to follow the example of some other people we know and do 29 RAOK (Random acts of Kindness). She has done some big and small and today I brought some little Hot Tamales that said "even though it's HOT outside have a great day" Mya took one of them up to a sweet older lady and made her day.
I love my sister and am so grateful to have her as my best friend. We had the greatest lunch and enjoyed lots of laughs and yummy food. People are what really matter in life and the relationships you make with them. I am so thankful for the person she is and how she helps me be a better person. We both love Wicked and I know all of these RAOK events that she participates in will cause people to be "changed for good". Love you Mol hope you had a Wonderful Wednesday!

So scary!

Well this little gal was not so happy last night. We had just come home from a great day of swimming and playing and eating yummy food. She was having a little cough earlier that I noticed but didn't think she was sick. Well we carried all 3 sleeping kids in from the car and I was getting ready for bed when I heard her calling and crying "mom mom mom" so I ran in her room and she was gasping for air and her eyes were so afraid. It made me super worried because even though I am in the medical field I don't have any equipment at home and not breathing is not good! We started a breathing treatment but she was so lethargic and limp that I was worried so I threw on some clothes and out the door we went to the ER. Well I was yelling at her the whole was to wake up and squeeze my hand and she was barley responsive which scared me more. I said a prayer that we would get there safe and she would be ok. I took her in and they immediately took her back and she had a 104 temp and O2 of 91. She was so sleepy and the doctor thought maybe she had strep so they swabbed her throat and started another breathing treatment and gave er some Motrin and steroids. Well about 2am she started to perk up and was really into watching hoarders on TV. She was fixed and I was so grateful and tired, but so worth it to hold my sweet girl and listen to her ask lots and lots of questions. I truly didn't think she remembered even coming into the ER, but she kept saying no shots right mom. Well I wasn't positive so I told her they were going to fix her breathing so we could go home and that was good for her. So grateful for such a sweet girl in my life and for a reminder of how life is fragile. I am grateful for Adam and the great man he is and the ability for him to give her a blessing before we left. I love her so much and how inquisitive she is about everything and how much I can teach her now. So we will definitely be having a nap today. Going to bed at 3am doesn't make me function very well. The girls are still asleep and my eyes are a bit stinging, so hopefully no more ER visits for awhile:)
