Prepared

I feel prepared some days and less on others. Here are my sweet kids, Mya always prepared with anything and everything in her " pus". She is always getting out something we were missing and haven't seen in days. She is prepared in a 2 year old way. Jaxson is also a prepared child, packing his swim suit when I told him we were going to the park. Just in case it was the park with the water, what a guy to remember his sisters suit too. He is so thoughtful always watching out for her. Whitney on the other hand is just worried and sleeping the fear away!!! She is such a good baby sleeping 8-4 last night!!!

Really though, I got an e-mail this week and it has made me reflect and want to prepare more for the unknown, and scary future. I want my kids to be protected and have the things they need. I am however trying to reinforce the meaning of need/want and this is helping me also. Life is so short and times are more difficult and costly than ever. I like to get a deal whenever possible and I am always one to check the clearance before I buy anything full price, but do I really need that adorable new sweater to cozy up in with the weather getting colder even though it is only $3.48. I have held back and been frugal these past few months, which I am going to try and continue to do. Things aren't a necessity, memories are, and they last a lifetime. As I get all sentimental, and tearful(hormones) I think of how fast my baby has grown and is already 5 weeks old. I am trying to cherish ever second, and she does get held and loved on a lots of kisses but it is only for a short time and I love every second of it. I am really enjoying life as a mom right now, sometimes a little crazy but great! I am grateful for the counsel we have been taught and I hope I can continue to be reminded of this simple but important way of life.

Catch up

So here are the tough guys who hiked and walked and got rained out and made it home in one piece! Adam went o scope out a new camp place for his boy scouts and went along with some friends. The kids and I got a lot of bonding time we went out to dinner, to the block party, and had a sleepover with my sister with lots of junk food!!! I am grateful for her and keeping me safe from the spooks

The best buddy cousins. The 3 of them loved to pose for a photo!! Jaxson sure misses this girl Kennedi though but they got a squeeze in while we were on the boat ride.

Here are the kids at Westgate a few weeks ago, we had a great time and went to Johnny Rocket's and had ice cream at cold stone and great FHE for the books.

My loving on Whitney which she loves to do, sometimes a little too much. I almost had a heart attack when she got her out of the swing all by herself and brought her to me!!

I love these guys!!!! Especially when they look sooooo cute for church. Here they are before the primary program, which Jaxson did great at and sang like an angel. Bobba and Aunt Molly even came to watch the little star. Thanks guys!

Busy Week!!!

Well we had quite the family weekend. Our family from Colorado came in on Saturday and we went out to my grandpa's to look at some of his cool things and pick them up there. The kids swam and played in his almost empty house and we had pizza, and reminisced about old times it was great. On Sunday we went to my brother's daughter's baby blessing and then that night was the funeral service. It was fantastic with lots of memories shared and family to catch up on old times. All of the great grand kids sang "I am Like a Star Shining Brightly", they did great and Jaxson belted it out I was so proud of him.
Monday was my Grandpa's birthday so we went to the cemetery in his honor. We all went out to lunch and had homemade cookies(his favorite). That night we had a surprise and drove all the way out to Saguaro lake and went on a dinner cruise. We had the best time and the kids were great. They had little life vests on and walked around looking at all the scenery and playing with all their cousins.
Tuesday we all went bowling and had fun watching all the little guys granny bowl. Their Bobba actually is a great bowler, but failed to do so because she slipped in the waxed part and fell in the first frame. She played it off well, but we were all worried about her because she hit her head pretty hard. My dad drove her home and she was fine, just a little stiff the next day. What a great Bobba she is and her grand kids sure love to be with her and she tries to come to any special event she can just to be with them. I am grateful for her and all she does.
After bowling we went back to my sister's and had KFC in grandpa's honor. We always ordered out chicken when we were at his house and it was so yummy!!!
Wednesday was the day the Worley's had to go home, so it was a little bitter sweet. We had a great time and even though it was sad, we made some great memories and will continue to keep gramps in our lives. We even have a trip planned to go skiing this Christmas just like we did when we were little kids. I am so excited!!

Grandpa Bob

So this is my sweet grandpa with my sister earlier on Valentine's Day this year. He passed away couple weeks ago on Wednesday after many long months of struggling to breathe. He was a fabulous husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, and friend. He worked hard all his life in behalf of his family. He was able to be reunited with his love of his life Doris after 5 years of being on his own. He loved all of us so much and was very expressive of it . I remember him always having a new pool toy, or Nintendo game for us when we came to visit. He loved to spoil us and a sleep over with McDonald's play land, and donuts in the morning was always a tradition. We went on walks down the canal with the dog and he usually took 4or 5 of us. What a great example of service he was, he was not a member of the church but was involved in the shriners, elks, and rotary. He took us along when they had kids back to school shopping day. We got to match up with someone and help them with their shopping who was less fortunate than us.
He also was a big fan of holidays, I think because he knew we would be over. He loved to dress up in the scariest masks for Halloween, and we loved it. Christmas was always fun with him as Santa and passing out the gifts. He had a twinkle in his eye for his grand kids and loved his great grand kids just as much. We were so lucky to have such a awesome grandpa who loved to hear about our lives and help us out in any way he could.
He will be greatly missed by many, but he left a legacy many could only hope for. We loved him and will keep his memory and what he stood for alive so our children remember him too.

And now there is 3

This is how I felt yesterday as my dear husband was gone at the Cardinal's game. He got tickets for his birthday so a bit of an exception and some stress for the new mom. I am kinda getting the hang of things again and we went on our first outing today to the doctor and it went great. Whitney is a mellow easy going baby and loves her binkie which is a huge blessing. Mya is adjusting at a slower pace and loves to say no to everything we ask!!! She does have a sweet side toward her sister though and loves to know where she is. Jaxson is a great big brother and is a great holder. He sits to watch TV and wants her on his lap. He says it is the perfect spot and she never cries. Adam is home for a couple more days and has been great at helping and letting me sleep. I am so amazed at this great calling of MOM and I wouldn't change it for anything it is a true miracle.

Whitney

So here she is, Whitney Kathleen Kobel. She came into the world on September 10th at 9:35pm and is a healthy sweet little girl. She was 7 pounds 11 ounces and 21 inches long. I went in about 4 and she was born 5 and a half hours later. Adam was a great coach and my mom and sister were also a huge help. We were a little shocked about the girl part, but are so excited and love her so much already. Even Jaxson is a proud big brother and loves to hold her. Mya says,"baby sista" and Wit-neeee. We came home yesterday and she had a great first night at home.

Pre Baby!!

Yes here is the belly, quite large!!! The kids had a great time painting and painting. Mya loved it and Jaxson thought it was a little crazy. We had a fun time and took some thought off of how much longer this child was still going to be inside me. I had worked my last day the day before and wanted to enjoy some time with 2 kids and it was a huge hit!!
